This role will lead a team of researchers within the Employee Experience space working closely with Design, Engineering, Product and Business Leadership to envision and deliver a future Microsoft workplace that enables innovative, creative and intelligent employee experiences across both digital and physical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of researchers who conduct diverse product research activities spanning generative to evaluative; foster and facilitate agile research practices and methodologies
  • Work closely with key stakeholders across Engineering, Design and Business Partners to establish trust and alignment for maximum research influence
  • Partner with other Research Leads to enhance the team’s ability to plan, execute, analyze and synthesize insights
  • Understand competitive landscape and innovations in the market
  • Provide mentorship and career growth to a diverse set of multi-disciplinary user researchers
  • Foster a diverse and inclusive team environment that empowers our team members to do their best work

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in user experience research, design research, product research or equivalent
  • 3+ years managing and leading people
  • Well established portfolio of research techniques from ethnography, field studies, interviews, evaluative usability studies, concept validation, user journey mapping, surveys, scorecards and competitive analysis
  • Deep knowledge on designing experiences across endpoints and informing the development of V1 platforms and products
  • Influential leader who can develop key partnerships with stakeholders and deliver a strategic research roadmap across multiple business areas
  • Proven track record of translating insights into product strategy, and the ability to define success outcomes for those experiences which are tracked and measured by research
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and proven ability to drive clarity, inspire others and deliver results
  • Master’s degree in HCI, ethnography, cognitive or experimental psychology, sociology, business planning OR a BA/BS in one of the above fields with significant academic or industry experience.
